Internal monologue during a workout (or stressful situations)

Even if you're already fit, you can still improve your perception of stress and how you perform in it.

There’s a balance between your motivation and the effort you feel, which can be altered by anything from self-talk to caffeine.

Identify negative thoughts that occur during the first few sets of exercises, such as "It's so hard" or "I'm getting tired," and learn to replace them with motivational statements such as "Keep pushing, you're doing well."

Physical limits are governed by the brain. With simple changes, we can alter those limits.

What we tell ourselves about the perception of stress will ultimately determine how long you endure, how hard you work, and how clearly you are able to think.
